When some customers ask us about braided silicone tubes, they will ask you whether the silicone tubes are high temperature resistant (above 200 ℃) or low temperature resistant (below minus 20 ℃). Generally, ordinary silicone tubes are not high and low temperature resistant, and only special silicone tubes are high and low temperature resistant.

Is it possible for the high temperature resistant silicone hose to work under high temperature (above 200 ℃)? On the contrary, can the low temperature resistant silicone hose work at low temperature (below -20 ℃)?

The answer is definitely not. For example, the safety voltage is 36V, which is harmless to human body in a short time, but it is also possible to get an electric shock when exposed to 24V voltage for a long time. The principle of silicone hose is the same as this.

The silicone tube can work at a high temperature of 300 ℃ or a low temperature of -70 ℃ for a short time without affecting its performance. However, if it works for a long time, the molecular structure of the silicone tube will be destroyed, thereby damaging the silicone tube. This is why the limit temperature of the silicone tube is -70 to 300 ℃.

In short, some customers may misunderstand that they can work at -70 to 300 ℃, but it is recommended that silicone hoses should not work at high or low temperatures for a long time.

Is there any relationship between the wall thickness of woven silicone hose and curing time at the same temperature? If the wall thickness affects the curing time, can the temperature be increased to reduce the curing time? Under the same temperature, of course, thick wall products need a long time, so it is not suitable to increase the temperature. Thick walled products are generally stored at low temperature for a long time, otherwise they are easy to be scorched outside and tender inside. For the same kind of rubber, if the product thickness is different and the vulcanization process is inconsistent, only thick products with long vulcanization time and low temperature can ensure the product quality. It is OK to raise the temperature, but be careful of the low tear resistance of the burst nozzle.

Unlike metal and water, the heat conduction of braided silicone tubes can be completed in an instant. There is a time process from high temperature to low temperature. If your product is heated at high temperature, it may be that the part near the heat source may have been vulcanized and restored to its original state, while the inner part near the center may only be vulcanized. Generally speaking, for every 6mm increase in product thickness, the curing time should be increased by at least 2min on the basis of T90. Thick products will be cooked at low temperature for a long time, otherwise they will be cooked outside but not inside. Products can also use two different films. The middle film solidifies faster and the two sides solidify slower, but there are more processes.
