Application of refrigerant pipes in central air conditioning systems

Time:2021-08-24Page views:2689

There are many types of air conditioners on the market, including wall mounted, cabinet mounted, and central air conditioning. In recent years, central air conditioning has continued to be popular due to its high comfort level. However, before purchasing, it is necessary to have a general understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of central air conditioning in order to know if it is suitable for personal use!

Home central air conditioning is an energy-saving and warm home air conditioning system. There are three common methods: cold/hot water systems, multi split systems, and wind pipe systems. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages in terms of energy consumption ratio, cost-effectiveness, and control system.

Duct fan system

Working principle: Each system consists of an outdoor unit with a air-cooled pump and an indoor unit. The outdoor unit and indoor unit are connected through refrigerant pipes, and the air supply to each room is stopped by the air duct connected from the indoor unit. The indoor unit can easily introduce outdoor fresh air to improve the air quality in the room. The room temperature is regulated by a variable air volume adjustment system installed in each air supply outlet and linked to the indoor temperature sensor. The total air volume of the indoor unit is automatically controlled by the variable air volume central control to be in any of the high/medium/low positions.

Meaning: Duct fan is commonly referred to as a one to one method, where one outdoor unit corresponds to one indoor unit. Its installation method and effect are the same as central air conditioning, with the main difference being that one outdoor unit of central air conditioning can drive multiple indoor units in multiple rooms, while installing duct fans in multiple rooms requires supporting multiple outdoor units and multiple indoor units. Generally speaking, air duct units belong to entry-level central air conditioning, and you can enjoy the warmth and beauty of central air conditioning at the price of ordinary split air conditioning.

Advantages: The advantage of a duct system is that each room uses ducts to provide centralized return air, resulting in low indoor noise. However, a room (usually a living room) equipped with an air conditioning indoor unit may have relatively high noise levels. The duct fan system facilitates the introduction of fresh air, and the indoor airflow organization can be rationalized based on the arrangement of air vents. The room temperature fluctuates less, the warmth is high, and due to its direct evaporation type, it consumes less power and has a high energy efficiency ratio. Duct systems are relatively simple, easy to construct, and have low engineering costs.

Defect: The system is difficult to meet the different air conditioning load requirements of multiple air-conditioned rooms at the same time. Special air valves need to be installed for room conditioning, and there are certain requirements for room height.

Multi connected system

Meaning: The fluorine system is a single refrigerant system with fast cooling and heating, and the room temperature can reach the set state in a short time. Moreover, most fluorine machines use frequency conversion systems, and each indoor unit can be independently controlled to adjust the operating speed according to the cooling demand of the indoor unit, which is relatively more energy-efficient.

Advantages: The indoor unit of the multi connected air conditioner has low operating noise, with a minimum noise of only 27dB. However, the noise of the fan coil unit is usually around 40dB. The system adopts refrigerant pipe connection, and the maximum pipe length for indoor and outdoor units can reach 120m, which is different from the limitation of indoor and outdoor unit connection pipes for split air conditioning units. The refrigerant pipe is very fine and there is no slope requirement for the device, and the indoor unit can be equipped with a condensate lift pump, which can save ceiling height. And the condensate lift pump can prevent condensate from flowing back, prevent condensate leakage in summer, and damage indoor decoration. The multi connected control room and internal and external units are connected by signal lines, ensuring stable and reliable operation, with a normal lifespan of over 15 years. The system also has a wide operating range and can provide heating even in the cold north.

Defect: Due to the direct delivery of refrigerant to the indoor unit of the air conditioner, once the refrigerant leaks, it is difficult to detect and therefore requires extremely high requirements for the refrigerant pipe device. There are requirements for the spacing and position difference between the indoor air conditioning unit and the outdoor host in relation to the micro air duct system of the cold/hot water system.

Summary: The home central air conditioning market is mature, and suitable configurations can be found for various types of houses. For duplex houses and villas with large areas and multiple rooms, one can consider choosing fluorine system multi split or water machine central air conditioning; For small-sized apartments, one can consider the use of air ducts for central air conditioning. Regardless of which system is chosen, there are requirements for the quality of refrigerant pipes.

water system

Operating principle: The outdoor unit is a small air-water heat pump unit, which prepares air conditioning cold (hot) water and sends it through the air conditioning pipeline system to each end of the room for installation (fan coil unit). The fan coil unit uses on-site return air to stop heat exchange with indoor air to complete air disposal. The indoor temperature can be regulated by an electric three-way valve located on the return pipe of each fan coil unit and interlocked with the indoor temperature sensors in each room. It can also be adjusted by the three speed switch of the fan coil unit (during constant water flow operation).

Advantages: The indoor end of the central air conditioning system uses water to exchange heat with air, resulting in minimal temperature changes and relatively warmer cooling and heating. In addition, the water heater can also be used for two purposes. In addition to ensuring warm cooling and gentle air outlet in summer, it can also be paired with underfloor heating for safe and reliable heating in winter. The temperature rises evenly from the air, providing gentle heating. At the same time, due to the fact that the pipeline system is a water system, it does not require a higher building height compared to an air duct system. The end mounted fan coil unit has a small size, diverse types, and easy layout and installation. Low operating noise and quiet indoor environment.

Defects: The waterway system entering the interior is relatively complex, and careless operation of the device and the discharge of condensed water can easily cause hidden dangers of suspended ceiling water leakage and damage to indoor decoration. And the condensate coil may breed bacteria and microorganisms, which have an impact on physical health. Maintenance work is difficult to stop. Dealing with fresh air is relatively difficult, and indoor air quality is relatively poor.
