In terms of volume, silica gel is widely used in the field of medical tubing in the world. The material of woven silicone hose is different from PVC pipe. The main material of silicone hose is silicon dioxide, while PVC is polyvinyl chloride.

Food grade silicone hoses are made of silica gel materials that meet the requirements of food grade. Peroxide is used for catalytic synthesis to ensure that the produced hoses do not fall off. Food silicone hose is suitable for food filling, especially for alcohol, beverage and edible oil filling. It has good high temperature resistance, tear resistance and flexibility, and can swing for a long time, so it is also an ideal hose for peristaltic pump.

Silicone tube has good chemical properties, good electrical insulation, weather resistance, environmental friendly and non-toxic materials, colorless and tasteless, while PVC hose has good electrical insulation, good chemical stability, self extinguishing, and low water absorption, but the dibutyl phthalate used is toxic.

Silicone tubes have ozone aging resistance, weather aging resistance, arc resistance, corona resistance and other properties, but their cost is high, and they are commonly used in rice cookers, disinfection cabinets, water dispensers and other household appliances.

The hose has the properties of physiological inertia, UV resistance, ozone resistance, strong resilience, compression resistance, permanent deformation resistance, oil resistance, stamping resistance, acid and alkali resistance, wear resistance, flame retardancy, voltage resistance and conductivity.

Moreover, their application ranges are different. Woven silicone tubes are mostly used in aviation, electronics, petroleum, chemical industry, machinery, electrical appliances, medical treatment, oven, food and other industrial sectors, while PVC tubes are mostly used in building materials, packaging, medicine and many other industries. There is also no smell of silicone hose, but PVC has smell because of additives.

Due to different industries, their service temperature is also different. The service temperature of woven silicone hose ranges from -60 ℃ to 200 ℃, and the transmission temperature of PVC pipe cannot exceed 45 ℃.
