Functional differences between woven silicone tubing and PVC tubing
Time:2022-05-23Page views:2086In terms of volume, silicone is widely used in the field of medical tubing worldwide. The material of woven silicone tubing is different from PVC tubing. The main material of silicone tubing is silicon dioxide, while PVC is polyvinyl chloride.
Food grade silicone hoses are made of silicone material that meets food grade requirements and are synthesized using peroxide catalysis to ensure that the produced hoses do not come off. Food silicone hose is a hose suitable for food filling, especially for filling alcohol, beverages, and edible oils. It has good high temperature resistance, tear resistance, and flexibility, and can swing for a long time, making it an ideal hose for peristaltic pumps.
Silicone tubing has good chemical properties, good electrical insulation, weather resistance, environmentally friendly and non-toxic materials, colorless and odorless, while PVC hose has good electrical insulation, good chemical stability, self extinguishing, and low water absorption, but the dibutyl phthalate used is toxic.
Silicone tubing has properties such as ozone aging resistance, weather aging resistance, arc resistance, and corona resistance, but its cost is relatively high and it is commonly used in household appliances such as rice cookers, disinfection cabinets, and water dispensers.
This hose has physiological inertness, UV resistance, ozone resistance, strong resilience, compression resistance, permanent deformation resistance, oil resistance, stamping resistance, acid and alkali resistance, wear resistance, flame retardancy, voltage resistance, and conductivity.
Moreover, their application ranges are different. Woven silicone tubes are mostly used in industrial sectors such as aviation, electronics, petroleum, chemical, machinery, electrical, medical, oven, food, etc., while PVC tubes are mostly used in many industries such as building materials, packaging, and pharmaceuticals. Silicone tubing has no odor, but PVC has an odor due to the presence of additives.
Due to different industries, their operating temperatures also vary. The operating temperature of woven silicone tubing ranges from -60 ℃ to 200 ℃, while the conveying temperature of PVC tubing cannot exceed 45 ℃.
